Suva becomes an Official Supplier of Zurich 2024

Suva is supporting the 2024 UCI Road and Para-cycling Road World Championships in Zurich, Switzerland, as an Official Supplier. The country’s largest accident insurance company is the ideal partner, as one of the institution’s key goals is the reintegration of injured persons, many of whom benefit from sporting activities such as para-cycling.

Suva and the Local Organising Committee (LOC) Zurich 2024 have agreed a comprehensive collaboration for the 2024 UCI Road and Para-cycling Road World Championships, which already includes support for the accompanying measure “Zäme ufs Velo” (Together We Ride) that will be launched in May 2024. In the run-up to the UCI Worlds, this roadshow will visit Zurich, Regensdorf, Uster, Kloten and Hittnau. The aim of these events is for adults, young people and children to discover the enjoyment of cycling, while learning about the importance of safety. This includes, for example, skill and safety courses or trying out e-bikes in a safe environment.

Sport as an important support for reintegration

Successful reintegration after an accident is a key concern for Suva as Switzerland’s largest accident insurer. This makes Suva the ideal partner for the 2024 UCI Road and Para-cycling Road World Championships: some of the participants are going through or have been through this integration process following an accident. In addition to support from the employer and insurance benefits, sport can also make a major contribution to reintegration.

People at the centre

Ina Bauspiess, Head of Marketing & Sponsoring at LOC Zurich 2024, lauded the collaboration with Suva: “People are always at the centre of Suva’s services. And that’s also the case with our global event in September. This partnership is based on this shared value and the desire to draw attention to the unique achievements of injured athletes. We are very grateful to Suva for their support.”
