General information
With regard to road closures, the principle of “as much as necessary, as little as possible” was applied; this was also to ensure the safety of the participating athletes, the accompanying teams and spectators along the routes.
Avoid unnecessary journeys and, if possible, travel outside the event times. Leave your car at home whenever possible and use alternative means of transport such as your bike or public transport.
The municipalities affected by the World Cup will play an important role. In close cooperation with the canton and the LOC, they will create an information programme tailored to the needs of their respective populations. Please also consult the website of your respective municipality for additional information.
During the 2024 UCI Road and Para-cycling Road World Championships, tram and bus services will be restricted in various regions of the city and canton of Zurich. Depending on the day of the race and the race programme, the affected lines will be diverted, run on shorter routes or be suspended.
The SBB train service, on the other hand, will be running according to the usual timetable, as will the Forch railway. The Horgen – Meilen ferry will also run according to schedule.
You can find your best connections in the ZVV timetable.

Well, nobody will get to Sechseläutenplatz and the other World Championship venues as fast as the riders on their bikes. But we make it as easy as possible for everyone.
For example, you can ride there on your own bike and park it in one of the three secure and free bike parks powered by ABUS that will be set up in the fan zones.
Or in keeping with the motto Together We Park & Bike: park your car in the AMAG Messe Zürich car park and then enjoy a relaxed ride into the city centre on a PubliBike with a 50 percent discount on the regular rental fee.
People with disabilities (and their accompanying persons) should be able to experience the UCI Cycling and Para-Cycling Road World Championships as easily and barrier-free as possible.
If you want to know whether a restaurant, another building or railway stations and stops are accessible for guests with disabilities, you can find the relevant information on Sitios or with the help of the Ginto app.
People with disabilities also receive valuable information about rail transport via the SBB Inclusive app.
Zurich 2024 will have so-called “hosted areas”. Thanks to a simple modular system with seating blocks, seats for people with disabilities will be arranged according to their needs. Such sectors are also planned in the catering area, in front of the stage where the medals are presented and in the fan zones.
Always allow more time than usual for your errands. Avoid unnecessary journeys and, if possible, travel outside of event times.
Mail distribution is guaranteed; there may be time delays. Other service providers such as couriers, retailers and municipal businesses will provide information via their respective websites.
Basic police services are guaranteed at all times.
