Who organizes it?
The UCI is the owner of all official cycling world championships. At the 2018 Congress in Innsbruck, it entrusted its member federation, Swiss Cycling, with the organisation of the 2024 UCI Road and Para-cycling Road World Championships.
Swiss Cycling leads, organises and represents Swiss cycling from the grassroots to the top of the world elite. The national federation sees itself as a hub as well as a competence centre for domestic cycling in the areas of competitive sport, mass sport, leisure and mobility.
In 2018, the city and canton of Zurich jointly applied to Swiss Cycling to host the 2024 World Cycling and Para-cycling Road Championships and were awarded the event by Swiss Cycling on 13 March 2019.
