Beware of pickpockets

Even pickpockets enjoy attending the Cycling World Championships!

In large crowds, extra caution is advised. Thieves often operate in groups and move through densely packed areas.

Therefore, never lose sight of your valuables and only carry what is absolutely necessary.

Code of conduct

To ensure a safe, fair, and sportsmanlike environment for all participants and spectators, we kindly ask that you respect the local code of conduct.

Thank you very much for your consideration!

Street painting - but only with chalk or chalk spray, please!

Dear cycling enthusiasts

We would like to remind you that you are only allowed to colour in the roads with chalk or chalk sprays. Chalk is environmentally friendly, easy to wash off and leaves no permanent marks - perfect for expressing your creative support for the riders!
Other types of paint, such as spray paint or permanent markings, are prohibited out of consideration for nature and the infrastructure.

Thank you for your understanding and consideration - and have fun cheering!

Toilets - Use public toilets and sanitary facilities!

Dear cycling enthusiasts

We ask you to use the public toilets, of which there are plenty in Zurich, and/or the sanitary facilities provided for this purpose.

We would like to point out that urinating in private and public gardens, on cultivated land, in forests and generally in public is not permitted.

Thank you for your understanding!

By the way: The Züri WCs are clean. In ShopVille, at Bellevue, at Bürkliplatz and under Paradeplatz, they are permanently attended to during opening hours. The others are cleaned twice a day.

Drinking water - Drinking water is possible at almost all public fountains!

Dear cycling enthusiasts

We are also proud to tell you that the water at publicly accessible fountains in Switzerland is generally safe to drink. As long as there is no sign saying "No drinking water", you can refresh yourself and recharge your batteries.

Thank you for your understanding and stay hydrated!

Camping - Wild" camping prohibited in Switzerland, but there are good alternatives!

Dear cycling enthusiasts

You can enjoy peaceful nights in a tent or caravan in beautiful surroundings, sometimes directly on the lake - whether on the outskirts of Zurich, around Lake Zurich or on Lake Geifensee. Have a look on our site and book.

We ask you to use the designated campsites, which are always well equipped. Camping and the parking of campers on public or private land without the landowner's authorisation is prohibited.

Thank you for your understanding!

Parking - We are here by bike!

Dear cycling enthusiasts

The best way to get to the UCI World Championships is by bike or public transport. At the finish area and in certain parts of the city traffic will be restricted for motorised private transport during the UCI Cycling and Para-Cycling World Championships Zurich 2024. Visitors travelling to Zurich by car are advised to park in the Messe Zürich multi-storey car park and then hop on a PubliBike.

We would like to point out that parking cars outside the marked public car parks is prohibited.

This page provides information on how to get there, for example cycle routes or inexpensive "Park & Bike-Ride".

Waste - disposing of it correctly also helps your bike star to shine!

Dear cycling enthusiasts

Help us to ensure that nature and the city shine just as brightly as your favourite cyclists on the route! Dispose of your waste in the bins or litter bins provided and labelled for this purpose.
Thank you for your understanding! And have fun cheering them on.
