Remo Forrer another top act at Zurich 2024

Remo Forrer, who has caused a furore in Switzerland and internationally with his song “Watergun”, will perform at the 2024 UCI Road and Para-cycling Road World Championships in Zurich, Switzerland. The Swiss singer completes the line-up of local music stars who will be entertaining fans with their concerts on Sechseläutenplatz during the global cycling event.

At the age of 22, Remo Forrer is already considered an exceptional talent. He won “The Voice of Switzerland”, “The Masked Singer Switzerland” and represented Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) in 2023. His hit “Watergun” has been streamed over 20 million times on Spotify.

“Last year was an incredibly emotional journey for me. After the ESC, I suddenly felt like I was recognised by the whole world,” says the young singer, who also performed at this year’s Art on Ice shows in several Swiss cities. “After these experiences, I had to find my place again with songwriting and composing. I’m therefore really looking forward to my performance at the 2024 UCI Road and Para-cycling Road World Championships on 24 September so that I can share my songs with spectators from Switzerland and all over the world.”

With the EP “Favorite Kind Of Lonely”, the singer-songwriter unveiled his moving journey through the past year at the end of May 2024. The songs on the EP revolve around problems and hardships in love and friendship, personal experiences with bullying – and the first encounter with the death of a loved one.

“Remo Forrer is a singer whose musical journey has only just begun. The Local Organising Committee (LOC) Zurich 2024 is very happy to be able to present him as another top act on our programme,” says Gabriela Buchs, co-project manager of the supporting events surrounding the first inclusive UCI Road and Para-cycling Road World Championships.

Award ceremonies, concerts and talks on Sechseläutenplatz

A varied supporting programme awaits the fans in addition to the finishes. On the big stage, the all the UCI World Champions for road and para-cycling road will be honoured and celebrated with gold medals and rainbow jerseys. In addition to Remo Forrer, the Zurich 2024 ambassador Ritschi, singers from the Swiss cult group Plüsch, Tabula Musica and Crimer will entertain the audiences. Moreover, the race broadcasts on the big screen, exciting talks and other events and cycling shows will provide variety.
