BMX Flatland: Dan Hennig

The German Dan Hennig has lived in Zurich for 9 years and turned his passion for BMX Flatland into a profession early on. BMX flatland is a form of freestyle BMX in which the athlete performs tricks on a flat, level surface. The tricks involve complex movements and creative combinations based on the rider’s balance and control. As the current German vice-champion, Dan Hennig has been taking part in international BMX Flatland competitions for years, has been in the top 10 of the world rankings and inspires a wide audience with his shows.

Artistic cycling: Sina von Rotz and artistic cyclists from Baar and Uzwil

Sina von Rotz from Emmen is so successful in artistic cycling that she is right at the top internationally. Her exceptional talent took her to the European Junior Championships in Germany in 2024, where she was crowned European U19 Champion. Sina von Rotz from the Kunstrad Baar club would also like to take part in the World Championships, gain experience at World Cups and, above all, keep the fun in the sport and pass it on to younger athletes. Junior and elite artistic cyclists from Baar and Uzwil show off their elegant and acrobatic laps and pirouettes on the Bürkliplatz. Whether individually or as a team, the artistic cyclists will thrill the audience.

Trial: Tom Oehler

Austrian Tom Oehler took part in his first trials competitions back in 1997, launching his career in professional sport. For over six years, he was among the top 3 in the UCI world rankings and was runner-up in the Junior World Championships and European Indoor BikeTrial Champion. In 2008, he crowned his career with the BikeTrial World Championship title. Tom Oehler is also listed twice in the Guinness Book of Records. In 2009, he set the world record for the ‘Highest Wallclimb on a Bicycle’ at 2.89 metres. In 2013, he was crowned the fastest trial biker over 400 metre hurdles in 44.62 seconds. Since 2011, Tom Oehler has focussed on show riding and technical, high-alpine mountain biking. As one of the best trials mountain bikers in the world, he shares his breathtaking adventures with us in film and video projects.

Trial: Raphael Dähler

‘At the beginning of 2018, Swiss rider Raphael Dähler stumbled across a street trial video by chance, which reminded him of his childhood, especially the children’s bike he used to ride down the cellar stairs. He bought his first street trial bike with his first apprentice’s wages. Having gained a lot of experience in video editing and graphic design in his past, Raphael knew he wanted to combine this with cycling. Over the past six years, Raphael has published numerous clips on social media and was nominated as Creator of the Year 2022. What once started as a hobby is now so much more for Raphael!’

Freestyle Wheelchair: Lorraine Truong

Lorraine is a Swiss para-athlete. Her first love was mountain biking. However, a traumatic brain injury ended her professional career in 2015. After a few years focussing on rehabilitation, she found a new way to have fun on wheels when she discovered WCMX (Wheelchair Motocross), also known as Freestyle Wheelchair. Within a few years, she rose to become one of the most creative riders in the world and is now a two-time world champion, leading the world series in 2024. She also loves to share her passion for her sport with children and adults and show everyone that wheelchairs are fun!
