Zurich 2024 launches ticket sales via official supplier Ticketmaster

The time has come: since midday today, cycling fans from Switzerland and abroad can buy tickets for the 2024 UCI Road and Para-cycling Road World Championships in Zurich, Switzerland, via the Official Supplier Ticketmaster. The offer includes a wide range of tickets for the fan zone in the finish area on Sechseläutenplatz. Enthusiastic amateur and hobby cyclists can also register via Ticketmaster for our public races, the “Charity Ride”, the “Legends Race” and the “City Race”. Highlight: former time trial UCI World Champion and Olympic Champion Fabian Cancellara will be competing in the “Legends Race”.

Zurich 2024 will bring cycling at the highest level and unique experiences. For the first time in the history of cycling, the UCI World Championships for road and para-cycling road are combined into one event, with both para-cyclists and non-para-cyclists sharing the same routes and crossing the same finish line. This opens up an additional sporting and social dimension and makes these UCI Worlds an exceptional event.

Something for everyone: Fan Experience or VIP Hospitality

Tickets are only required for the main fan zone on Sechseläutenplatz and are sold exclusively via the Official Supplier Ticketmaster:

Cycling fans are likely to find the option that suits them in one of the various categories, for example with the “Fan Experience” tickets, which can be purchased for one day or per weekend as required.

Day or combination tickets for the VIP category will also be available. Guests in the UCI VIP Lounge with a direct view of the finish line can enjoy a wide range of hot and cold dishes with specialities from the region.

The number of tickets is limited for security reasons and in view of the available infrastructure. All information, such as the opening times of the Sechseläutenplatz fan zone and the programme, can be found on the Ticketmaster website or at www.zurich2024.com.

Access to all areas and buildings is barrier-free and also designed for people with disabilities. In so-called “hosted areas”, seats can be arranged for them and their companions according to their needs using a simple modular system with seating blocks.

Action on Sechseläutenplatz every day

In addition to the finishes, fans can look forward to a varied programme, which will be presented in mid-June. The 66 para-cycling and non-para-cycling UCI World Champions will be honoured on the big stage with gold medals and rainbow jerseys. A special concert, which will also feature sign language interpreters, will kick off the event on 21 September. Further concerts, which will similarly focus on Swiss musicians, including the official ambassador “Ritschi”, singer of the Swiss band “Plüsch”, as well as broadcasts on the big screen, exciting talks and other entertainment elements will provide variety.

“Legends Race”: Against the clock – and against Fabian Cancellara

Registrations for the “Charity Ride”, the “Legends Race” and the “City Race” are now also possible exclusively via the Ticketmaster portal. Former time trial UCI World Champion and Olympic Champion Fabian Cancellara will also be taking part in the Legends Race.

An entry fee must be paid for participation. This fee will include the right to participate, a start number and, if applicable, timekeeping, memberships with partner organisations – which will be communicated in the coming days -, and results. All participants will also receive a commemorative gift.

“Our promise from the outset was that the UCI Road and Para-cycling Road World Championships and the races would come to the people,” emphasises Daniel Rupf, the managing director of the Local Organising Committee (LOC) Zurich 2024. “We are keeping this promise with our fan zone on Sechseläutenplatz, but also along the fantastic routes in and around Zurich, where admission is of course free. We are also delighted to be able to give amateur and hobby cyclists the opportunity to take part in three public races on the official UCI World Championship routes.”

Digital campaign with ambassadors accompanies the sales launch

The Local Organising Committee (LOC) Zurich 2024 is also launching the first digital campaign with its six ambassadors. The high-calibre sextet of Fabian Cancellara, Fabian Recher, Flurina Rigling, Marlen Reusser, Stefan Küng and Ritschi will draw the attention of the public and cycling fans to the global cycling festival next September on the news websites of media partner Tamedia as well as at Zurich main railway station and at Zurich Airport, Bern, Basel and Lucerne railway stations.
